Step by Step for Scripture

Over 100 Runners Turned Up to Create an Electric Atmosphere for the Tonga Bible.

What a day! Over 100 runners showed up, full of heart, grit, and pure energy, ready to make a difference for the Tonga Bible!

From 5km to 21km, runners crushed the tracks. Some came solo, others with friends, couples, or entire families, turning the event into a celebration of community, faith, and fun. The atmosphere was electric; cheers, laughter, and determination filled the air, reminding everyone why they were running: to support God’s Word in the Tonga language.

Dedicated Participants Traveled Over 600km Just to Join the Starting Line.

Some participants went above and beyond. One man travelled 609 km from Hwange — that’s nearly 10 hours on the road, just to be at the starting line. Another came from Chirundu, 355 km away, enduring 6 hours of travel to join the movement. Their dedication was incredible, showing that distance is no barrier when faith drives you forward.

A 12-Year-Old Student Inspired the Crowd by Completing the Full 21km Race.

And the real MVP of the day? A 12-year-old boy who took on the 21km race with his dad. His school had challenged students to try something they’d never done before, and he chose a massive physical challenge. Step by step, he pushed through the kilometres, proving that courage, determination, and support can move mountains. He finished the race like a true champ, inspiring everyone who watched him cross the finish line.

Virtual Runners Joined the Movement From Towns Across Zimbabwe.

Not everyone was in Harare, but that didn’t stop people from being part of the day. Many ran virtually from towns and cities across Zimbabwe, sending in photos, sharing their distances, and cheering online. Every single step, whether on the track or virtually, helped raise awareness and support for the Tonga Bible.

Major Sponsors and Corporate Donors Stepped Up to Make the Event Possible.

Support from donors and sponsors took the event to the next level. A huge shoutout to Econet, Scripture Union, DemaCare, Robert Root, Carba Lancet Africa, Airnet, and the Commercial Workers Union of Zimbabwe. Your contributions made the day possible and helped ensure that the Tonga Bible continues reaching more people in meaningful ways.

More Than a Run: Proof That Community and Faith Can Overcome Any Challenge.

This wasn’t just a run, it was a movement, a vibe, and proof that faith + action = epic moments. Every step mattered. Every cheer counted. Every kilometre brought the Tonga Bible closer to the people who need it.

The Tonga Bible Run reminded everyone that when a community comes together for God’s Word, age, distance, and challenges don’t matter, only heart, commitment, and faith do.
