“When the king of Israel read the letter, he tore his robes and said, ‘Am I God? Can I kill and bring back to life?'”

Naaman’s journey to healing did not unfold as expected. The letter he brought to the king of Israel caused confusion and fear, for the king knew he could not heal leprosy. But God’s plan was already in motion through the prophet Elisha, who invited Naaman to come to him. Sometimes, we assume healing will come from the places we deem logical or influential—like a king. But God often works through unexpected channels, showing that healing is His work, not man’s.

Reflection Questions:

  • Can you think of a time when healing or help came from an unexpected source?
  • Are there places where you may need to look beyond your expectations for God’s intervention?
